About Tye, TX - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Also known as Tebo as well as Hines, Tye is a flourishing community in Taylor County, Texas. It is an integral part of the Abilene, Texas Metropolitan Statistical Area. With a current population estimated to be around 1200, Tye has deep roots in history as it was laid off by Texas and Pacific Railway in the year 1881. A bustling community with schools, churches and markets soon emerged.

The city of Tye is part of the Northern Taylor County. The city is accessible, located north side of the Dyess Air Force Base and 8 miles westwards of Abilene. Served by the Merkel Independent School District, Tye has a strong economy fueled by many local businesses and service industries.

Tye RV Park does not only welcome campers, this 25 acre park has a majestic 5-acre lake that is perfect for some fishing. Amenities like Pull Thrus and restrooms make it a perfect campground. You can enjoy healthy activities like walking, hiking and camping in a peaceful and tranquil environment.

Tye’s close proximity to Abilene Zoo, Buffalo Gap Historic Area, Coliseum and Expo Center, as well as Dyess AFB makes it a perfect Texan town to visit during holidays. The city has a total area of 4.7 square miles. Its relatively small area does not limit the access of its residents to many modern amenities like food and entertainment venues, hospitals and libraries.

The overall climate of Tye is comfortable and temperate. Tye gets about 26 inches of rain every year and about 4 inches of snowfall, which is well below the US average. Temperature soars to around 95 degrees in July, making a reliable air conditioning system a must for the residents. Heat pump becomes invaluable in winters, as temperature is prone to drop to 32 degrees in January.
